Welcome to the
very first episode of the Teacher's Corner Screencast.
Teacher's Corner is a website created by a teacher
(myself) for other teachers, for students and for
everyone willing to learn. It provides you with
interesting, captivating and sometimes entertaining
lessons, tutorials and fully fledged courses on software,
the internet and technology in general. I addition to
that, another section of this website will offer short
lessons snippets on learning English in the future.
In this
episode I introduce you to Journler, a journaling
application. Journler can store, organize and find
almost any kind of information in an extremely
intuitive and yet very powerful way. This is what
makes it so useful for teachers and learners alike.
You will learn how to:
– input
and import information and files
– organize data by creating folders and smart
folders
– work with multimedia elements
– find information stored in Journler
Known issues:
There have
been some technical problems throughout the production of
the show:
– On some parts of the movie, the mouse pointer
looks weird. This is due to my recording application,
SnapZ Pro from Ambrosia Software. The app wasn't 100%
compatible with my Intel Mac at the time of the
recording.
– In one section of the movie I demonstrate the
recording features of Journler. However, when playing
back the recordings there is no sound. This is, again,
due to SnapZ Pro. Both issues have been resolved by
Ambrosia Software by now and won't be an issue in future
recordings.
– On some sections of the movie the sound quality
isn't perfect. Again, this problem has been resolved by
now and won't be an issue in future episode.
