Lesson 2 - LEO
Welcome
to the second episode of the Teacher's Corner
Screencast.
Teacher's Corner is a website created by a teacher
(myself) for other teachers, for students and for
everyone willing to learn. It provides you with
interesting, captivating and sometimes entertaining
lessons, tutorials and fully fledged courses on
software, the internet and technology in general. I
addition to that, another section of this website
will offer short lessons snippets on learning
English in the future.
In this
episode I introduce you to LEO, an online
dictionary that translates between German and
English, German and French, and German and Spanish.
You'll learn everything you need to know on how to
handle LEO's web interface. Also, I'll cover
several ways of integrating LEO with your favorite
browser and with LaunchBar, a multi purpose utility
for the Macintosh.
Known issues:
There
are some minor flaws in this show. None of them is
a showstopper, so I chose to publish the show
anyway:
– Minor language flaws: If you find them:
Please ignore them. If not: Never mind. ;-)
– Minor artifacts while recording. I am not
quite sure why they are there, since they don't
show up in the source clips I recorded with SnapZ
Pro. Maybe Final Cut Pro has some compatibility
issues with those source clips' format. I
definitely have to look at this for the next show.
– Although the sound quality has been
improved considerably compared to previous show, it
is not perfect yet. The volume changes slightly
from time to time.
Please join the forum and tell me what you think of
this show.
